Ahhhhhh! Big things are happening today in the Zurlnick house. Daddy was caught at work late, but our day started off with everyone sleeping in. The rest must have been much needed because we all woke up with smiles and ready to conquer the day!
Sounds like the makings for a perfect day, only it didn’t quite end up that way. Stress levels are starting to increase from most of the humans who occupy the premises. I can fully appreciate and understand how confusing being home from school might be for CJ. He doesn’t quite get why he still has to do work, and he is falling into bad habits of too much tv time and leaving his stuff everywhere. I can’t tell you how many times a day I ask him to pick something up or to put something away. It’s mentally exhausting at this point.
I am not sure Ella really gets why she has been home the last two weeks. Her routine is something that is so incredibly important to her everyday life. Consistency is key, and absolutely necessary, with most special needs children and this change is throwing her off in ways that we may not fully comprehend until she does finally go back to school.
Jack keeps forging ahead without a care in the world. Today he was standing at Ella’s high chair for the first time. Hands on the tray, our littlest man was trying to get to his big sister. He determination is admirable, and extremely frightening at the same time. I keep asking myself where the last ten months have gone. Pregnancy surely didn’t fly by this fast. These are huge milestones for the family and we are trying to take the time to appreciate them all.
To be continued…work in progress. Duty calls.
