A day to rejuvenate!

Today was a good day! I slept well last night, and so did the kids. The first one didn’t wake up until 8:30 am. That’s also when I got up to start my day.

I spent the morning with my mom and dad. We had a very special package that needed to be delivered, so we took a ride. Life gets busy, and a majority of the time I spend with my parents, my kids are always with me. Steve had off today so I offered to take a ride with them.

I almost forgot what it was like to have a conversation with them where a small human wasn’t interrupting us. My parents are getting older, and as life naturally progresses they are slowing down. Being with them forces me to do the same, and it was a nice change of pace today. We talked, we laughed, we busted each other’s chops, and they told some great stories from the old days. I would say we are very close, and today was such a good day. I realized I need to make time for more of them.

When we got back into town, it was infusion time. The whole process was a hot mess (check my Instagram stories). I got to assigned to chair 3 to begin the infusion -over an hour after my scheduled time. Thankfully I had an amazing nurse who was so positive and despite seeing steam coming out of my ears, somehow managed to turn my mood around. The actual infusion wasn’t the most pleasant but I had one ENTIRE hour to myself. Sitting in a chair with my head on a pillow. It was glorious. She promised within a week I would find a renewed sense of energy. I am counting down the days.

I came home, got the kids ready, and we headed out. My sister was kind enough to take all three of my kiddos so Steve and I could have a night out. They had a great time hanging out with their cousins. It’s never a bad thing when family gets together. Thanks again for helping to make that happen big sis! They sure were exhausted when we picked them up.

While the children played, Steve and I met two of my college roommates and their hubbies down by the river. You know those nights you need to go out and forget about everything on your mind, if only for a few hours? Tonight was that night for me. No kid talk! Just drinking, laughing, and inappropriate conversation. It was constant and these ladies and their beloveds made my night. We ended up having the most amazing waiter and somehow got our entire meal comped. The best night! I need more of these two.

Jack and Ella passed out on the way home and are peacefully sleeping at this moment. Bedtime was super quick tonight. Always a win in my book! No news came in regarding Ella, so I will work on getting some answers tomorrow. Now, I sleep!

Check on my Instagram stories for the scoop on my infusion. Never a dull moment. Sometimes I truly miss quarantine! Make sure you follow us. You never know what might happen!
